GITL Conducts A “Customer Awareness Meet” With Industrial Associations At Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh
In order to develop natural gas infrastructure in the county and to provide a seamless supply of cleaner fuel, PNGRB invited bid for building and operating cross county pipeline from Mallavaram (A.P) to Bhilwara (Rajasthan). In the said bidding GSPL emerged as the successful bidder for the said pipeline and was awarded the pipeline on July 07th, 2011. To execute this cross-country pipeline project a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) named as GSPL India Transco Limited was formed on October 20th, 2011 as a consortium between GSPL (52%), IOCL (26%), BPCL (11%) and HPCL (11%). The consortium achieved the financial closure for the project on June 29th, 2012. Project activities are moving at a rapid phase, the company has achieved 100% of 3(1) published and 59.68% of 6(1) published under RoU activities.
To ensure that the project achieves its aim of providing access to cleaner fuel to industries in the vicinity of the pipeline and benefiting maximum consumers, it was decided to conduct customer awareness meet with industrial associations. As the pipeline has the longest stretch in Madhya Pradesh (total of 873 kms out of 1746 kms) it was decided to conduct the first meet at Bhopal. Recognising the relatively higher potential in state of Madhya Pradesh vis- a vis other important industrial/demand hub along the MBBVPL project, an awareness drive towards natural gas among industrial customers of Bhopal and adjoining Raisen District took place by way of a kick off USER MEET at Bhopal on July 26th 2013.
The meeting was graced by government dignitaries namely Shri P. K. Dash, I.A.S (Additional Chief Secretary –Industries) and Shri. A. K. Bhatt, I.A.S (Managing Director-Trade and Investment Facilitation Corporation Limited /TRIFAC). This meeting would not have been possible without the co-operation and support of Government of Madhya Pradesh and Govindpura and Mandideep Industrial Associations’ Executive Body. We would like to extend our gratitude towards the Government of Madhya Pradesh and Office Bearers of GIA and MIA to make this event a huge success.
The event saw a huge participation from industries like (Eicher Tractors, Crompton Greaves, Sanwaria Agro, Insulators & electrical Comp, HEG, Lupin etc.) belonging to Govindpura Industries Association (GIA) and Mandideep Industries Association (MIA). The estimated footfall was in excess of 70 delegates along with representatives from local media.
The delegates appreciated the proactive action taken by GITL for organizing customer awareness meet at nascent stage of project. Many delegates were keen to switch over natural gas in order to be more competitive through efficiency improvement and product quality enhancement.
ACS-Industry praised the initiative taken by GITL and advised the Industry delegates to leverage the opportunity to ensure sustainable industrial growth in the state. He also requested GITL to conduct similar event with other industrial clusters across the state.
Government authorities, JV partners and industry delegates appreciated the presentation delivered by Sh. N. Bose Babu (Director & Head projects-GITL) on MBBVPL project and benefits of natural gas.
We hope to capitalise on this USER MEET and similar events in future in favour of GITL.
